ABOUT JULLE ART
Julia Pulkkinen taiteilijanimeltään Julle on keraamisten veistosten, reliefien ja maalausten tekijä. Hänen työskentelynsä ytimessä ovat lapsenmielinen ilo, epätäydellisyyden kauneus ja vahva tarinallisuus.
Jullen luoma maailma ammentaa inspiraatiota hänen omasta lapsuudestaan – ajasta, jolloin värit olivat rohkeita, hahmot hassuja ja mielikuvitus rajaton. Hänen teostensa visuaalinen kieli syntyy tuon aikakauden lelujen, kuvakirjojen ja pienten arjen yksityiskohtien vaikutteista.
Savi on Jullen luonnollisin materiaali ja tärkein kumppani luomisessa. Hän rakentaa teoksensa käsin ja käy jatkuvaa vuoropuhelua niiden kanssa. Usein tuntuu, että teos alkaa elää omaa elämäänsä jo työpöydällä: se kertoo itse, minkä värinen, muotoinen tai ilmeinen haluaa olla. Jokaiselle hahmolle syntyy prosessin aikana nimi, persoona ja oma karakteeri.
Erityisen rakkaita Jullelle ovat nelijalkaiset olennot – hänen maailmansa asukkaat, joihin katsoja voi samaistua, jotka voivat tuoda lohtua tai yksinkertaisesti saada hymyilemään.
Jullen teoksissa toistuvat raaputetut viivat, rouheat pinnat ja runsaasti värejä. Vaikka savi on hänelle tärkein materiaali, hänen hahmonsa kulkevat mukana myös grafiikan vedoksiin ja maalauksiin, ikään kuin jatkaen tarinaansa teoksesta toiseen.
Jullelle tärkeintä on herättää katsojassa lämpöä, iloa ja mielikuvituksen kipinää. Hän toivoo, että hänen teoksensa kuljettavat hetkeksi paikkaan, jossa mikään ei ole liian vakavaa – ja jossa epätäydellisyys on kaikkein kauneinta.

The world Julle creates draws inspiration from her own childhood—a time when colors were bold, characters were quirky, and imagination knew no limits. The visual language of her work is shaped by the toys, picture books, and small everyday details of that era.
Clay is her most natural material and her most important partner in the creative process. She builds her pieces by hand and engages in a constant dialogue with them. Often, it feels as though the work begins to live its own life on the studio table: it tells her what color, shape, or expression it wants to have. Each character develops its own name, personality, and presence during the making process.
Four-legged creatures are especially dear to Julle. They appear throughout her work as inhabitants of her own imagined world—beings that invite empathy, offer comfort, or simply bring a smile.
Her works feature scratched lines, textured surfaces, and abundant color. While clay remains her primary medium, her characters also travel into prints and paintings, continuing their stories from one artwork to the next.
What matters most to Julle is to spark warmth, joy, and imagination in the viewer. She hopes her works carry people to a place where nothing is too serious—and where imperfection is the most beautiful thing of all.
